HST Sampler
Amanda who blogs here is hosting a quilt along! The quilt along is a 9 block sampler using half square triangles (hst). This is my first time participating in a quilt along and I am eager to improve my accuracy working with hst.
Amanda is using fabrics from “The Sultran Garden” by Mary McQuire for RJR fabrics and a few of the Cotton and Steel Basics. Craftsy had the Sultran Garden layer cake as clearance item so I purchased it to use along with Amanda.
I’m late to the party but below are the blocks that I’ve started!
Block 1 – Formal Garden — cute block — not quite perfect; I made a couple of mistakes squaring up so all of my points do not match up. The overall block does measure the 12.5 inches square so I’m not going to dwell too much on it 🙂

Block 2 – Morning Star – I love this block! It’s a great choice for big print floral fabrics. It was waaaaay harder than I thought it would be. First time I’ve worked with 3.5 inch squares. I had to unpick a few times 🙁. In the end I’m happy with the effort.

Block 3 – Contrary Wife — what a fun fun block — quick and easy — I will definitely make this one again!

Until next time — live love and sew!
